Fixed!

After three weeks in a cast our littles can wear jeans and matching socks. He's all better!

There are no long term effects. He will grow normally and isn't at an increased risk for re-injury. Except perhaps for whatever personality trait draws him to climb/jump.

Our biggest cast challenges:

  • Bath and swimming, solved with the DryPro cast cover
  • Not fitting in his high chair, solved with a new booster seat
  • Not fitting in pants. Solved with loose pants, shorts, and pantless days
  • Not fitting on swings at the park :(
  • Missing gymboree classes, replaced with music classes
  • Avoiding spills from cups and water bottles

We acquired over a dozen books about casts and broken bones. This helped us prepare for the cast removal. Link knew exactly what was going to happen. Unfortunately, he cries as soon as we pull into the medical center parkinglot.

At this stage in life just about everything can be solved with the cherrio cup.

It will take a few weeks for him to regain strength in his left leg. Here's our little limper getting back into his golf game (see video)
