A wet weekend

Our rainy weekend started with swim classes!

The JCC holds lessons in the "deep end" 4 feet of water. There's a plastic moveable platform with a rail for the four kids to stand on while the teacher works with them individually. Our little sinker stepped off it twice in the first 10 minutes and went under fast. No one saw and Mom had to yell for the instructor to save him. After the second time they kept a better eye on him. It was brief and Link came up smiling. Apparently most kids listen and hold onto the rail.

You can see him briefly let go at the end of this video.
watch Link swim and sink on youtube

Watch us talk about it at bedtime
He didn't like holding onto the bar so he let go
What happened when you let go? Did you fall off?
Nothing. I fell under.
How did you feel?
Sad.
And then what happened?
Nothing.
Did your teacher pick you up?
No.
Really?
No, they didn't.
Then what happened?
I went down to the bottom.
Yeah, and then what happened?
Nothing. I was laying down there.
Really? How did you get up?
I couldn't get up.
So what happened?
I was still laying at the bottom.
Here's what I saw...
