When I picked him up from daycare all of the kids were talking about it. There are several sessions throughout a few days, and many of them were talking about going to work.
It's not work.
It's a carnival setup in fields outside. They did a good job of incorporating Google products and event some technical concepts into the event for ages kindergarten - 3rd grade.
We sat through part of a session explaining MapReduce using legos. MapReduce is a technique which splits data into chunks to process parallel instead of sequentially. They had bins of legos to sort into colors and experimented with different algorithms to sort. Link made it through about 5 minutes.
Link says his favorite parts were the snack (cliff bar kids) and making an airplane.
We started by biking in to avoid traffic.
This alligator is a reminder to Googlers not to let people tailgate - follow you in without a badge. Rumor has it our CFO dressed in this suit and followed people in to show what a problem it was.
Link got to take his photo next to a self driving car, they gave him a sticker. He really wanted to drive. He doesn't get it.
