Another email from Lex's teachers
Hey TB Families
What's a fluffy? Well, some of the TB educators really enjoy the routine of their morning coffee, tea, or alternative beverage. Like most things, we wanted to share that experience with the children. Initially we did this by steaming milk for them in the staff microkitchen, but eventually it became so popular we were having to take orders! Hot, iced, foam, no foam.
We thought it would be fun to bring that routine into our classroom instead of making it an excursion from the classroom. We ordered 6 mugs, a milk frother, and we keep an ample supply of whole milk. When a child sits for morning snack, they can request a fluffy (we decided to move away from calling it a coffee to try to avoid pushing our substance choices on the children, and they're called fluffies in New Zealand anyway).
We keep a list of who has had one in the past to try to make sure that everyone who wants one is able to get one, but we do limit it to only six children a day so that it stays special. Some of the Tiger Beetles have started using the milk frother themselves. Others prefer having it made for them. Some children don't like them at all.
What morning routines do you have? Which do you share with your child? What are the routines that help your family get the day going?

Every morning the kids come in and need to choose between 3 small group activities. Lex doesn’t usually choose yoga, but I love and had to share the photos of his friends in their yoga session
