So what have we been upto? We rented an Airbnb condo right on the river in the central business district. We had lots of space and laundry - essential almost daily.
River cruise, the Yarra River is known as the upside down river because the salt and fresh water don't mix. Fresh water is on top with all the sediment, making it look brown. Divers say the bottom salt water is crystal clear.
Link on a steam boat
Link's second professional sporting event. Melbourne Cricket Grounds is one of the top 10 "must see" stadiums in the world (two in the US are Rose Bowl and Fenway Park).
The Melbourne Stars played the Hobart Hurricanes in the big bash series. This twenty20 series is a shortened version if the game, instead of the usual several day event this is three hours and "action packed"

Ben went to the Australian Open semi finals to see Wawrink beat Berdytch. Rod Laver arenas roof was open and a bird pooped on his shoulder. Meanwhile, Link was my date for homemade dumplings in Chinatown. He woke up as soon as the food arrived.

Our favorite area is St Kilda Beach, a 20 minute bus or train ride. They have tons of "cake shops" which are like European bakeries. Ben usually doesn't eat much but this got him very excited and we left with 5 pastries for the plane. I'll never understand ben's plane food rules.

With a pram (stroller) full of pastries and smelling like spicy garlic we say goodbye to Melbourne and cross our fingers for good weather in the Great Barrier Reef.
